This blog is dedicated to our travels around the world and
our hopes that one day our daughter and son will realize the charmed lives
they've lived.
My wife, Katie, and I took our first trip where we had our
passports stamped after we had been married just over a year. We went to Sweden and Denmark where I had
lived for 2 years. During our flight home
to Utah, we had a conversation that went something like "wouldn't it be cool to
get our passports stamped every year?" It
hasn't always worked out that way, but 12 years into marriage we've been to 15
countries and counting...
Once our first child joined our family, there were two
thoughts we had as it related to traveling, we don't want to stop just because
we have a kid, and if we do take the time off work, she deserves to be with
us. So, Gwen has grown up thinking there
is nothing unusual with getting on an airplane and flying 10 hours to a place
with different languages, smells and foods.
We've been to some amazing places, met wonderful people,
experienced great cultures. However, what
Katie and I believe is most important is to get out and create memories with our
kids. It's funny, but I think our 10 year
old daughter would struggle to tell you what she got for Christmas last year,
but she can still describe the beach in Koh Samui that we walked one night when
she was 5.
So here I go, publishing our blog. A little nervous to expose the Chandlers to
the cyber world but glad to carve out a small place in that cyber world that
Gwen and Mason can visit one day to remind them of the special times our family
shared in unique places around the world.
IF WE KNOW YOU OR DON'T KNOW YOU, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LEAVE

Hi there, Chandler family!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and commenting, allowing me to find yours. I´ve enjoyed reading about your travels as a family.
So many people are put off travelling (for whatever reason) whilst their children are growing up. We´ve always done the same as you - with our son growing up thinking it was perfectly normal to spend extended time away travelling each year.
I´m convinced that the world would be a much more tolerant place if more people experienced and took the time to respect the culture of others.
I hope you decide to visit Spain sometime soon. I´m sure you wouldn´t regret it - and the added bonus is that Spaniards LOVE children! :)
Happy and safe travels.
